New Customer Focus: Gravity 360

Mark King is used to running his own business, having operated a successful photography company for the past 15 years. He travelled the globe working in studios and on location for clients such as Shangri La Hotels, Warburtons and Surf.

Having noticed the ever-increasing influence of online shopping, Mark has now set up a new company called 'Gravity 360', which specialises in 360 Spin Photography. If you’ve ever been able to use your cursor to rotate a product on a webpage, this is what Gravity 360 creates. They allow you to look at every angle of a product, ensuring that you know exactly what you’re purchasing online before hitting the 'Buy' button.

Mark explains more: “We rotate products with state-of-the-art robots, shooting stills photographs every 10 degrees. The set of 36 stills photos are then uploaded to a special web-host and an interactive 360 Spin is created! The fully responsive 360 Spins are then implemented into your website and away you go.”

In 1996, Mark completed a Graphics and Design degree in Auckland, New Zealand, specialising in photography. Now he is an award-winning advertising and commercial photographer who has won numerous awards during his career. Most recently this included inclusion in Creative Review's prestigious Photography Annual and also been named as one of Archive Magazine's Best 200 Ad Photographers Worldwide for six consecutive years.

This next chapter of his career is an exciting, new challenge where Mark is looking forward to combining both his creativity and extensive technical knowledge to this new and under-utilised online shopping tool. Research has shown that having 360 Spins on your website can increase sale conversions by up to 40%. Mark wants his clients to take advantage of this new medium before their competition does!

Mark added, “In November 2018, Amazon announced that they would start supporting the use of 360 Spins after a short 60-day pilot.
