There are over seven thousand health and fitness clubs in the UK, with over 10 million combined members, making us one of the fitness hotspots of Europe. Only Germany has more members ...

Almost half of these clubs focus on fitness, generating an annual turnover of around £2billion, so it's a big business too. We're pleased to say that Bucks Biz provides the ideal location for some outstanding fitness experiences, which also provide a great keep-fit opportunity on the doorstep for our customers and visitors.

A survey of over 5,000 adults by Public Health England (PHE) found that eight out of 10 people over 18 wanted to change their lifestyle in 2021 and beyond. This is partly due to increased awareness of the importance of being healthy and fit during the pandemic. PHE's study found that being obese significantly increased the likelihood of admission to intensive care, compared to someone with a healthy body mass index (BMI).

This has led to the call for a National Leisure Recovery Fund focussing especially on gyms, pools, and leisure centres in the public sector. These trends are also affecting private sector fitness experts.

During the pandemic, nearly a third of people said they exercised less and smokers agreed they had smoked more since the second national lockdown. However, four out of 10 people now want to exercise more, lose weight, and have a healthier diet.

The research highlights the importance of sport and physical activity, and especially gyms!

Gyms were amongst the first businesses to close during the first lockdown and have been some of the last to re-open. However, it is known that exercise is also good for your overall wellbeing and mental health. While gyms have been hard hit by the pandemic, there's no doubt that there's strong demand for them now.

Bucks Biz is home to some of Milton Keynes' most established and successful gyms and fitness clubs. For example, the Martial Arts Academy HQ for kickboxing champion and personal trainer Tom Banks is at MK:TWO.

There are also gyms, boot camps, female fitness clubs, and personal trainers. With excellent access to the Bucks Biz locations from the M1 and the A5, and with free parking, they can provide great venues for the thousands of fitness enthusiasts to be found within an easy 15-mile radius.

For start-up facilities and established fitness businesses looking for new locations our design and build team and on-site maintenance service can make sure you have the venue you've always wanted. And, of course, there are well-equipped and supported office facilities, so you can keep everything running smoothly.
